This makes it ideal for use in automated smoke control systems designed to keep flare stack smoke emissions within EPA mandated levels.","The QUASAR utilizes dual wavelength infrared detection system and electronic circuitry to automatically compensate for signal variation due to rain, snow or fog. Observed smoke levels are reported via a 4-20 mA signal and an alarm set-point with adjustable timing delay. The QUASAR can be mounted on a control center roof and sighted to monitor smoke levels on distant flare stacks.
