ams Programmable Color Light-to-Frequency converters are color-filtered sensors uniformly distributed across the sensing area, eliminating the need for a light diffuser. The ams TCS3200D, TCS3210D, and TCS230D color light-to-frequency converters interface directly with a microcontroller or DSP and are available in an 8-pin SoIC package. The output is a square wave and frequency directly proportional to light intensity. The full-scale output frequency can be scaled by one of three pre-set values via two control input pins.
