PCE-PTR 200 is a high-acccuracy multi-purpose force gauge (penetrometer) commonly used to test the ripeness or maturity of fruit based on firmness. PCE-PTR 200 eliminates the need to purchase multiple devices, as PCE-PTR 200 comes with three different penetrating sensors and can be used to measure compression as well as tension or traction. Controlled by a microprocessor, PCE-PTR 200 is powered by batteries or by an optional 9 V DC adapter (see accessories for details). The display rotates 180° for ease of reading while taking measurements. To transfer data from the device to a computer, an optional software package and data cable are required (see accessories for details). Using the software, data transfer to a computer takes place at a rate of one reading every 2 seconds. To ensure accurate, repeatable test results for quality control purposes, use of an optional test stand (see accessories for details) is recommended.
